printer server does not worked immediately after updating to 2.3.7.0 beta

I made an update from 2.3.6.1 to 2.3.7.0 beta. I added the printer application in dashboard/application (All the applications are deactivated after update) I attached my printer (canon ip3600) and turned it on. Well nothing happend. The printer icon in the dashboard does not activaes itself. I even tried to print a test page and still nothing happend. I restarted the fonera and the printer has been recognized and was able to print. It seems to me that the fonera needs to be rebooted after installing the printer plugin.

I suppose this problem already existed on previous versions of the printer plugin, so I'll not immediately investigate this (we can't fix everything in 2.3.7.0). We'll keep this ticket to track this issue, though.

Hello Matthijs,

I want to add that I have the feeling that everytime I print a page with my printer, the dashboard ( http://fonera) seems to not responding anymore. Furthermore the internet connection seems to be lost. I have timeouts when I try to ping a webpage or the dns could not be resolved.

The stability issue might be related to #1064. Could you perhaps try connecting your printer through a (powered) USB hub and then see if that changes the issue?

Same issue here. Just updated to beta2.

Fix: 1. install the printer from the application menu 2. power down usb printer 3. power up usb printer
