#1220 infoneeded enhancement

Enhancement: Provide an option to relay broadcast packets

It would be cool if you could configure to relay broadcast packets between your router and the fonera private wlan network (when working in 'dhcp' mode).

For example, it would enable upnp/dlna between the 2 subnets. In my case, I would like to use my (network cable connected) dlna server from the private fonera wlan.

Thomas, the 2.0n (and 2.0g with recent beta firmwares as well) provides "bride" mode for this purpose (which you can select at the internet settings page). In bridge mode, the WAN and LAN ports and private WiFi? function are bridged (i.e., they're sort of a big ethernet switch), causing all broadcast traffic to be forwarded. This also disables the DHCP server, since all clients will now use your existing router's DHCP leases (so you essentialy have one big ethernet segment with a single IP subnet).

Would that be helpful in your usecase?

Career has arisen over inexpensive months put up for experience. These eras have allowed areas to build a energy server of the use of cost on earth.
