Description

most UMTS contracts are not flat, they are usually bounded on time or on data transferred.

at the moment the fon2 keeps the connection always-on and this may bring to very high bills!

an easy solution would be to enable manual umts connection clickin on a button in the webui; a more advanced option would be to configure the provider plan (by time or by traffic) more throughly (some like: stay always-on from 5pm to 9am and switch to manual connection otherwise).

As part of the upcoming 2.3.7.0 firmware release, we're reviewing old open tickets to see if they are still relevant, which is why you get this response now.

Implementing a manual 3G switch sounds like a good idea, we'll keep this in mind if we work on 3G support at some point in the future.

Note that this probably needs to be implemented in the internet settings, by adding a checkbox "Switch to 3G automatically" and when it's turned off and a 3G modem is present, add an extra option "3G" to the internet mode dropdown.
