#361 investigate enhancement

Support 3G dongle: HUAWEI E1550

Reported by: me@… Owned by:
Priority: normal Milestone:
Component: fon-network-3g Version: N/A
Severity: unknown
Cc: Hardware: both

Description

My 3G Modem HUAWEI E1550 is not recognized by the La Fonera 2 Firmware Version: 2.2.5.0

The Modem ist from COMVIQ and is run as a prepaid solution in Sweden.

When plugged into the La Fonera the Fonera Software says that there is no UMTS / 3G device connected.

What is the problem?

Do I have to use a USB hub with external energy supply for this modem?

Is a newer version of the firmware available that will help me to get the modem running?

upgrade you huawai stick to the latest firmware and it will be detected: E155XUpdate_11.608.14.15.311.B418.zip

But still with that firmware the fonera router will not work due to a missconfiguration it seems on the fonera router...

As part of the upcoming 2.3.7.0 firmware release, we're reviewing old open tickets to see if they are still relevant, which is why you get this response now.

We will revamp the 3G point at some point in the future. When this happens, we'll need to revisit supporting this 3G stick as well.
