Wireless channel settings ignored

I find out that my fonera 2 box with Firmware Version: 2.2.5.0 Release Candidate: 5 ignores channel settings specified in Advanced Wireless Settings. If I switch channel, then fonera will try to switch channel as well, but my neighbors will change to the same channel even faster. In the end I have strong interference from neighbors and fonera stuck in a wrong channel.
