#539 closed bug (test_in_newer_version)

USB disc do not remove

Reported by: mihaly.reg@… Owned by:
Priority: normal Milestone:
Component: fon-base-firmware Version: (Gari)
Severity: unknown
Cc: Hardware: 2.0n (FON2300)

F2N USB disc page says always "do not remove" for Disc-A1 even when no activity on the disc. Practically means that disc never can be removed from F2N. Refresh of page does not help to display the correct status.

  • Milestone changed from Firmware 2.3.5 to Firmware

There is definitely some process accessing it. We need to see what it is, but right now, the only safe way to extract the disc is to resboot (not powercycle) the unit. sorry

  • Milestone Firmware deleted
  • Priority changed from major to normal
  • Status changed from new to investigate
  • Version set to (Gari)

I've seen this issue on a local disc as well (on It seems to occur after starting Transmission, the disc it is running from is not safe even after stopping transmission (haven't tested this a lot though, and there might be other cases where this problem surfaces as well).

As part of the upcoming firmware release, we're reviewing old open tickets to see if they are still relevant, which is why you get this response now.

If this issue still occurs with the rc2 firmware, feel free to leave a comment here so we can further investigate.
