Can this script be modified to get my HUAWEI E1750 3G dongle to work?

I found a script to make this modem work on a ubuntu machine. http://fr.sourceforge.jp/projects/sfnet_huaweie1750ubun/releases/?file_id=2375953 I assume it can be edited to make it work on the fon 2.0n, but unfortunately I don't know what I'm doing. Please can somebody help me with this? The reason I bought this router back in october was to use it with this dongle, and it has barely been out of the box since!! I posted before trac.fonosfera.org/fon-ng/ticket/448
