I assume you mean to send WOL packets to arbitrary hosts (possibly from a preconfigured list) so you can start up hosts through the web interface accessed from the internet?

Yes, it's this the idea! It is included in many routers, and it would be nice to have this feature in the Fonera ...

Wake on Lan @ Fon2.0n

I modified the previous wake on lan plugin so it would run on my fonera 2.0n. Maybe this will be useful for you.

I don't know if changing the binary to mips WoL will run on the other foneras but I think that it should not be a problem.

Cool, I hadn't realized there was already a plugin for this. It even has a luci interface :-)

If I understand this correctly, you've only modified an existing 2.0g plugin tarball by replacing the wol binary? Where did the original plugin come from? I'd like to have the sources, so we might be able to actually add this plugin.

I have found it in you wiki. It also required me to modify to make some minor changes in the code. Now, I think there are only to options:

1 - remove the binary from the package and install wol package from openwrt in futures releases of fon-ng. 2 - add the binary for the mips arch and modify the update script to check the deviceid when installing and uninstalling.

I have also uploaded the source. Bests

WoL source for fon2.0n

I tested the plugin "wol_fon2.0n.tgz" and it doesn't work in the my computers: I have done tests with 2 pc (of course with the Wake on LAN enabled), but none of these turns on in the lead.

PS: Can you add a field where you can enter a name to distinguish the computers? (as in the image)

JazzyJ (a member of the forum) has slightly modified the Mr Jorge's Wake-On-Lan plugin. Now it works!

I have downloaded and installed the plugin and I cannot add any Mac adress and save it. I tried to write in format xx-xx-xx and xx:xx:xx and when I click on add nothing happens.

Can you help me?

#1225 is a duplicate.

I've been working on including this plugin in the official source tree. For technical reasons I ended up rewriting pretty much the entire plugin, but I'll have a version of this plugin ready for testing soon.

(In [2228]) luci-wol: Add luci application for Wake-on-LAN.

This application is inspired by the wol plugin that has been floating around the Fon community, but does not share any code with that plugin. This plugin uses a bit more of luci and cbi, whereas the other plugin did a lot of HTML generation and handling manually.

There is currently no icon for this application yet, so a dummy icon is added. The real icon will be designed and added later.

Closes: #680

An automatically built version of this plugin is now available for testing. See for details on how to get it working.
