#885 confirmed enhancement

Support for multiple printers

Hi! I want to share 2 printers on my fonera but can only get 1 at a time to work. I have an Epson printer and a Canon fax printer and when I first plug-in the Epson printer to my hub (that's connected to the Fonera), it works fine. But when I plug-in the Canon fax printer too, the Epson printer won't work! It disappears in the printer settings menu in the Fon GUI and it's not possible to print by using port 9100. Doesn't the fonera support multiple printers? Do I have to use another port?

Regards, Henrik

As part of the upcoming firmware release, we're reviewing old open tickets to see if they are still relevant, which is why you get this response now.

The printer WebUI suggests that multiple printers should be supported (saying "The following printers are currently attached" and showing a list), but it really supports only a single printer.

The p910nd daemon does support multiple printers (by running the deamon multiple times on port 9100, 9101, etc.), but the supporting webgui and RestartPrinter? script all assume there is only one printer.

This is probably not very hard to implement, so perhaps we can do this in the future.
