#945 closed enhancement (wontfix)

Configurable DL_URL of from Fonera WebUI

Reported by: mihaly.reg@… Owned by:

Severity: unknown

Please make the DL_URL configurable from the web user interface. Something like this: In page Settings System make a new chapter: "Application installation path", with two checkboxes: 1. "use default from", meaning DL_URL=""; and 2. with a new field named: "Custom:", where the user can enter any link from web to install custom apps. just an example:"; to install Transmission. But it can be any link of course.

This feature could be useful for not so experienced users who cannot edit by "vi" the file. Also for advanced users could save some time.

As part of the upcoming firmware release, we're reviewing old open tickets to see if they are still relevant, which is why you get this response now.

It seems that 3rdparty plugins using the fmg system now just ship their own version of If we want to fix this, we should probably instead review the fmg plugin format and have some other fundamental way to install 3rdparty apps.
