#969 closed bug (moreinfoneeded)

Fonera gui says no disks attached, even though the router sees them.

Reported by: fon@… Owned by:
Priority: normal Milestone:
Component: fon-base-firmware Version: 2.3.6.0 (Gari)
Severity: unknown
Cc: Hardware: 2.0n (FON2300)

Description

Situation: 3 usb disks, each with 1 partition, ext3 formatted, all self powered. Connected via self powered hub to fonera 2.0n Firmware Version: 2.3.6.0 (developer version, so I can ssh in to see what is going on).

When I ssh in, the disks and partitions are perfectly visible:

root@Fonera:/root# fdisk -l

Disk /dev/sda: 500.1 GB, 500107862016 bytes 255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 60801 cylinders Units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 = 8225280 bytes Disk identifier: 0x7cac3427

Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System

/dev/sda1 1 60801 488384001 83 Linux

Disk /dev/sdb: 500.1 GB, 500107862016 bytes 255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 60801 cylinders Units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 = 8225280 bytes Disk identifier: 0x8d399bc0

Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System

/dev/sdb1 1 60801 488384001 83 Linux

Disk /dev/sdc: 500.1 GB, 500107862016 bytes 255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 60801 cylinders Units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 = 8225280 bytes Disk identifier: 0x7d78761a

Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System

/dev/sdc1 1 60801 488384001 83 Linux

and I can manually mount them too: /dev/sda1 on /tmp/run/mountd/sda1 type ext3 (rw,data=ordered) /dev/sdc1 on /tmp/run/mountd/sdc1 type ext3 (rw,data=ordered) /dev/sdb1 on /tmp/run/mountd/sdb1 type ext2 (rw) (not sure why sdb1 turns up as ext2)

The gui however, keeps saying that no disks are attached, and I cannot start torrents etc.

If you connect just one of your disks (with or without the USB hub in between), does that work?

Can you attach the output of the "logread" command here, after connecting just one disk without the USB hub? See this wiki page for more info.

As part of the upcoming 2.3.7.0 firmware release, we're reviewing old open tickets to see if they are still relevant, which is why you get this response now.

If this issue still occurs with the 2.3.7.0 rc2 firmware, feel free to leave a comment here so we can further investigate.
